Benjamin Wacksmann (nato 11 Maggio 1985 a Parigi) è un regista e sceneggiatore francese con una passione per il cinema fin dalla più giovane età. Ha seguito per tutto il suo percorso formativo un insegnamento della pratica e analisi delle forme audiovisive. Dopo diversi film scolastici e una laurea in Arti Performative ed Estetica del Cinema presso l’Università di Parigi 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, ha deciso di andare oltre nella sua ricerca attorno al lavoro dell’attore unendosi alla “Julie Goudard Theater Company”. Per cinque anni, ha lavorato in questa compagnia come attore e assistente alla scenografia sui lavori di classici, repertori moderni e contemporanei (W. Shakespeare, Cechov A., T. Williams, S. Kane …). Allo stesso tempo, ha sviluppato le sue abilità nella scrittura continuando a sviluppare il suo senso dell’ immagine come cameraman e aiuto regista in altri progetti di trasmissione e video d’arte come quelli dell’artista contemporaneo Oliver Beer. Nel 2012, ha intrapreso l’avventura del suo primo film, En Retour, co-scritto con il fratello, che ha prodotto e diretto. Oggi, sta ultimando la post-produzione del suo secondo cortometraggio, un film di sopravvivenza poetica situato ambientato in una natura selvaggia ” If I forget you “, e sta sviluppando la trama del suo prossimo film.

Benjamin Wacksmann (born May 11, 1985 in Paris) is a French film director and screenwriter. With a passion for cinema since the youngest age, he followed throughout his schooling a teaching of the practice and analysis of audiovisual forms. After several school films and a degree of Performing Arts and Esthetics of Films at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, he decided to go further into his research around the actor’s work and joined the Julie Goudard Theater Company. For five years, he worked within this company as an actor and assistant to the scenography on plays of classic, modern and contemporary repertoires (W. Shakespeare, A. Tchekov, T. Williams, S. Kane…). At the same time, he developed his skills in plot writing and kept on developing his sense of image by working as a cameraman and assistant director on other broadcasting projects and art videos such as these of the contemporary artist Oliver Beer. In 2012, he embarked on the adventure of his first movie In Return, co-written with his brother, which he produced and directed. Today, he is finalizing the post-production of his second short film “If I forget you”, a poetic survival film set in a wild nature, and is developing the storyline of his next movie.

Proviene da una famiglia umile, per questo non ha mai potuto permettersi di pagare le tasse di una scuola di cinematografia. Invece ha comprato una videocamenra e ha imparato da solo a fare film. Ad oggi ha comprato 4 videocamere.
Il suo lungometraggio di debutto, “Many pieces of something”, è uscito questo autunno.

He comes from a humble family, so he was never able to afford the film schools fees. Instead he bought a video camera on installments and taught himself how to make films.
To date he has purchased 4 cameras.

Quindici anni di desiderio represso. Questa città grigia testimonia l’ansia che li spinge a condividere più delle tute, dei pic-nic e dello zucchero filato. Vasili ha è il suo corpo tonico e una medaglia d’argento, Slav convive da anni con un dolore che paralizza la sua mano. Sono quindici anni di foto, di sguardi e passeggiate domenicali.

Dopo diversi anni di lavoro in diverse squadre di produzione per cortometraggi, lungometraggi e pubblicità, ho deciso di dedicarmi a progetti di regia. Ho diretto video musicali, cortometraggi, pubblicità e seguito il dietro le quinte di altri progetti. Sono l’altra metà del duo creativo “Pérez y Stein”.

Synopsis

Fifteen years of pent-up desire. This grey city witnesses the anxiety that pushes them to share more than tracksuits, picnics and cotton candy. All Vasili has got is his toned body and a silver medal, Slav suffers with the pain that paralyzes his hand. It´s been fifteen years of photos, glances and sunday walks.

Alma regrets not having touched the person she loves, but, perhaps it was better this way, by being together she would have missed the kiss which was seeking her. Two people who were not destined to be together. One gesture which changes everything. Two potential love stories, the image narrates some of the facts and the sound others.

Da quando avevano 6 anni, hanno sempre avuto la stessa quantità di energia, umorismo e sogni. Niente può fermare questi ragazzi. Fanno sempre un sacco di cose diverse, come la musica, il cinema e le piccole imprese. E con la loro combinazione di competenze, che spesso fanno cose di cui vanno molto orgogliosi. Per molti anni si sono dedicati alla produzione di molte fiction e filmati aziendali, ma ora, il loro più grande sogno è quello di diventare registi di documentari di successo. Dopo molta pratica, hanno fatto il loro primo documentario vero e proprio. Un’idea che è venuta fuori dal nulla, dopo aver casualmente incontrato il personaggio principale del film. E oggi sono orgogliosi ed entusiasti del risultato. Non perché sono si compiacciono, ma perché ci sono riusciti!

knitting and especially his sexuality. Several times a year, he decorates his electric wheel chair,
by knitting on to it. Watch his own inspiring story. A story of a man you’ve never met before!

Since they were 6 years old, they have always had the same amount of energy, humor and
dreams. Nothing can stop these guys. They have always been making a lot of different things,
such as music, film and small companies. And with their combination of skills, they often make
something that they are very proud of. For many years they have been making a lot of fiction and
corporate films, but now, their biggest dream is to become successful documentary film
directors. By a lot of practicing, swelling and tears, they have made their first real documentary.
An idea that came out of the blue, after randomly meeting the main character in the film. And
today they are proud and thrilled about the result. Not because they are smug – but because they did it!

Harry e Angelo si svegliano alle otto del mattino. Stanno per fare colazione ma Angel inizia a litigare e dice di volere la separazione. Harry è in stato di shock e cerca di convincerlo a rimanere. Angelo finalmente rimane o forse no?

Harry and Angel wake up eight o’ clock in the morning. They are about to take breakfast but Angel starts a fight and says he wants separation. Harry is in shock and he tries to persuade him to stay. Angel finally stays or maybe not?

Nicolas Pourliaros è nato a Salonicco, la seconda città più grande della Grecia. Ha studiato giornalismo, inglese, italiano, Regia. Negli ultimi quattordici lavora come scrittore per una rivista e dal 2005 è editorialista nella più famosa rivista greca “TV Viewer”. In questo momento è impegnato alla scrittura di un nuvo film e ad imparare una nuova lingua.

Nicolas Pourliaros was born in Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece. He studied Journalism, English, Italian, Film direction. For the last fourteen year he works as magazine writer and since 2005 he is a columnist in the most famous Greek magazine “TV Viewer”. These days he is writing a new script for an upcoming film and he is planing to study a new language.

Endins è un cortometraggio che racconta la storia di due amici, Carles e Albert, che si allontanano dai loro amici, per andare a fare un bagno nel fiume. Carles andava spesso li da bambino, ma questa volta riscopre il posto con una sensazione insolita. Albert lo segue ed esplora, con Carles, i luoghi nascosti tra gli alberi. Ma non sono soli.

La leggenda narra di una piccola donna dalla grande bellezza, che vive nascosta dai mortali, e loro hanno il dono di captare quelli che vengono spazzati via nelle crepe della terra. Quando Alberto realizza circa le crepe sotterranee nel legno, Carles non ha dubbi ad entrare e seguire Albert. Più vanno in profondità, più si allontanano dalla realtà. Le pietre creano seduzione, prossimità, tessiture ed un filo invisibile che mette i loro corpi insieme, i loro respiri, i loro sguardi ed i loro silenzi. Per loro non vi è alcuna necessità di toccarsi per sentire la rugosità della loro pelle.

Endins is a short film which explains the story of two friends, Carles and Albert, who get into the wood moving away from their friends, who are taking a bath in the river pools. Carles had been there when he was a child, but this time rediscovers the place with an unusual sensation. Albert follows him and explores, with Carles, the hidden spots among the trees. But they are not alone there. The legend tells that tiny women with great beauty live hidden from the mortals, and they have the gift of captive the ones who get swept up in the cracked land. When Albert realises about the subterranean cracks in the wood, Carles has no doubt in getting in neither Albert in following him. The more they get deeper, the more they move away from the reality. The stones create seduction, proximity, textures and an invisible thread which puts their bodies together, their breath, their glances and their silences. There is no need for them to touch to feel the rugosity of their skins.

Lanzo è poi alla sceneggiatura  con un Master in “Taller de Guionistas de Gràcia”, che si è avvalso della collaborazione tra il produttore cinematografico Rodar y Rodar e l’Università di Barcelona. becoming a scriptwriter by doing a Master’s degree in “Taller de Guionistas de Gràcia”, imparted

by the film producer Rodar y Rodar together with the University of Barcelona. This year he has

written and directed the short films called “Amor de purpurina” and “Una rana”, both being

presented and competing in the Notodofilmfest film festival.
