Sinossi:
Una sera, tornando a casa a Madrid, Ulises incontra David, una vecchia conoscenza che non riesce a dimenticare. Quando inevitabilmente ritornano alle vecchie dinamiche, lui si chiede se la loro relazione possa ancora avere un futuro.
“La solitudine, la difficoltà di esprimere i sentimenti, la mancanza di impegno… Ulises vive cieco pensando che David gli darà davvero una possibilità un giorno, una possibilità di sentirsi amato… Ma quest’uomo sta solo giocando con lui. E per me era importante che il personaggio principale fosse consapevole che le cose non cambieranno mai e che deve lasciarsi alle spalle quella relazione tossica che ha con David, il fuckboi”, è con queste parole che il regista da un quadro di ciò che vuole esprimere nel suo cortometraggio.
Il corto è stato selezionato per QUEENSTOWN QUEER FILM FESTIVAL (2023).

Carlos Jiménez Lucas è un giovane regista spagnolo nato a Madrid. Attualmente sta completando un master in regia cinematografica e produzione cinematografica presso la scuola EFTI. Fin da piccolo ha sempre mostrato interesse nel raccontare storie e, col passare del tempo, si è reso conto che quelle che lo affascinavano davvero erano quelle che si collegavano, in un modo o nell’altro, alle emozioni umane. Quelle storie che, si spera, pizzicheranno il cuore dello spettatore. Il suo primo lavoro, “VACÍO”, ha avuto un grande successo sulle piattaforme digitali. Con “DESPIDE A TU FUCKBOI”, prova a fare un altro passo nella sua carriera. Attualmente sta lavorando alla post-produzione del suo terzo cortometraggio, “VUELVE A CASA”, che rappresenta un grande cambiamento e un’incursione in nuovi generi: in questo caso, l’horror.

Synopsis:
One evening, returning home to Madrid, Ulises meets David, an old acquaintance he cannot forget. When they inevitably return to their old dynamics, he wonders if their relationship still has a future.
“The loneliness, the difficulty in expressing feelings, the lack of commitment… Ulises lives blind thinking that David will really give him a chance one day, a chance to feel loved… But this man is just playing with him. And for me it was important that the main character was aware that things will never change and that he must leave behind that toxic relationship he has with David, the fuckboi”, it is with these words that the director gives a picture of what he wants to express in his short film.
The short was selected for QUEENSTOWN QUEER FILM FESTIVAL (2023).
Biofilmography:
Carlos Jiménez Lucas is a young Spanish director born in Madrid. He is currently completing a master’s degree in film directing and film production at the EFTI school. From an early age he always showed an interest in telling stories and, as time passed, he realized that the ones that really fascinated him were those that were connected, in one way or another, to human emotions. Those stories that will hopefully tug at the viewer’s heart. His first work, “VACÍO”, had great success on digital platforms. With “DESPIDE A TU FUCKBOI”, he tries to take another step in his career. He is currently working on the post-production of his third short film, “VUELVE A CASA”, which represents a big change and a foray into new genres: in this case, horror
